Ross Jeffries - Speed SeductionRoss Jeffries will be 50 years old this September, and his "Speed Seduction" website will be "training" men all over the world in his particular art. As you may have guessed, this tactic is Speed Seduction. According to Mr. Jeffries, his technique is backed up by a full satisfaction guarantee. Quoting from the aforementioned website, Mr. Jeffries promises: "If You Don't Get Laid, I Don't Get Paid! You Must Sleep With At Least 3 Hot Women Within 90 Days Of Using My Home Study Course Or You Pay Nothing…I'll Refund Every Penny!" There are myriad promises available to the consumer at his website, including the secret of "irresistible arousal" and more than a few strange tactics involving something Ross Jeffries calls "magick". I'll leave it at this: there is a New Age, metaphysical aspect to Jeffries approach to seduction advice that is all but missing in the rest of his community. Like it or lump it, Jeffries' approach is unique.
Jeffries' approaches to seduction do seem alarmingly similar to the old "club her in the head and drag her to your cave" routine perfected by our ancients. When he suggests that sexual innuendo can be hidden in everyday phrases to subconsciously influence a woman's behavior, he's literally suggesting that men use a weapon (hypnosis) on their target (the woman). There is more to do with hunting than with love in Jeffries' world. On his Speed Seduction site, Jeffries lists viewer's responses to his product, including one gentleman who claims "She said 'I can't believe I'm doing this!" Or another customer who claims his new girlfriend (which he snagged using Jeffries techniques "looks like Kim Basinger's . . . younger sister!" This emphasis on women's shame and ultra-young looks should clue you in to the true feelings of Jeffries and his student. But apart from personal feelings, you have to wonder at the scope of Jeffries vision. Though he has done as much to create the Seduction Community atmosphere as anyone else (he was the first community member to start a website) his star has, of late, begun falling. Other pickup artists (or PUAs as they're known to one another) have invented twists to older techniques which the increasingly younger crowd of PUAs are following. In other words, the old ways have passed. Guys like Ross, approaching 50 years old faster than some of his competition is approaching 30, are being phased out. One nemesis in particular, a younger guy who goes by the moniker of Tyler Durden (an interesting choice for reasons we don't have room to explore) is becoming a greater and greater thorn in the side of Ross Jeffries. Recent flare-ups have included run-ins on the community message boards (seemingly small events that resonate strongly in the small world of online seduction advice) and even legal cases regarding copyright issues. While some in the community stress Jeffries importance to the contemporary seduction "movement" – after all, his self-published 1990 title How to Get the Women You Desire Into Bed pretty much launched the movement, or at least propelled it to a size where calling it a movement isn't a complete joke. Perhaps it is inevitable, but Ross Jeffries is simply not as important now as he was to this community at one time. All criticism from his peers aside, Ross Jeffries has always gone out of his way to express one belief – that his tactics are designed to teach men how to make their relationships more pleasurable for both themselves AND for women. The idea here is that Jeffries present himself as the least misogynistic of the crowd of so-called "seduction experts" around him. Because of positions like this, Jeffries has kind of always been an outcast. During a lawsuit Jeffries brought against one of his opponents in the early 90s, his opponent R. Don Steele remarked "I'm not anti-semitic. I just hate kikes". Coming from a world full of people like Steele and worse, Jeffries comes off as the kind of guy you'd take home to meet your mother – is this another kind of seduction altogether? Is Jeffries paying lip service to women, trying to convince people that his tactics are good for all people? Who is to say? Ross Jeffries used the internet in its infancy -- as early as 1993 -- to spread his Speed Seduction gospel throughout the universe. He has produced cassette tapes, given seminars, released DVDs, and brought tons of press to the community, and at the time the ideas behind Speed-Seduction were a kind of Holy Grail for PUAs. It seemed this was the master plan for seduction, that finally there was a chance for ugly, fat or otherwise unattractive guys to date the women they dreamed about. User groups and newsgroups popped up online over the next decade and a half, as did countless Jeffries imitators and knockoffs – each one boasting better and more proven techniques. Jeffries's Web site simply promises you'll seduce at least three women in 90 days or "you pay nothing." His home-study courses range from $225 to $370 – not expensive if you're talking about learning a lifetime skill. There are those who consider Ross Jeffries a genius, and many who consider him far less. Regardless, you must acknowledge his impact on a good number of people, and his business prowess. No doubt, women will be hearing his advice, as filtered through any number of hopeless pickup artists, for years to come.
