Find a Girlfriend
If you’re lonely, find yourself playing Xbox with your buddies every Saturday night, and crave some companionship, finding a girlfriend may seem impossible.
When we’re down in the dumps (when we really need a girlfriend) it seems impossible to find one. Often, being without a girlfriend means being without confidence. Ironically, when we find a girlfriend, we often find dozens of other women suddenly vying for our attentions.
How is a guy supposed to find a girlfriend when he’s at his worst?

Here are three steps to finding a girlfriend. Anyone can do this–even the least confident, nerdiest, loneliest of losers.
1. Fix Yourself Up
If you’ve been without a girlfriend for a while, odds are that you aren’t at your physical best. Maybe you’ve let bad habits get the best of you, you’ve put on some pounds and let your gym membership fall by the wayside. Whatever the reason, and whatever the symptom, the only way to make yourself your absolute best is to get off the couch and get to work.
Start by revamping your hygiene routine. Keep your body, hair, and breath clean and wonderful at all times–you never know when your next girlfriend is going to walk past you.
Your next step is to get back into the gym. Working out isn’t just for losing weight or gaining muscle, it also builds confidence. You know that healthy glow people have after a hard workout? It’s attractive. Start a workout routine and people will notice the new you.
Finally, in your quest to be a better you, try something new. Get a different haircut, throw out your wardrobe, wear glasses (or switch to contacts)–just do something that changes yourself. The point isn’t to make you into something you’re not, but to make you stand out in a crowd and give you confidence.
2. Meet Lots of Women
You’ll never find a girlfriend by hanging out at the comic book store all day–and you’re sure not going to find a girlfriend without meeting lots of new girls.
You’ll find your own best spot to meet women, but here’s a few suggestions:
More important than where you meet women is simply to meet them. Talk to women of all types–fat ones, skinny ones, girls that climb on rocks. No matter what type of woman you meet, talk to her. You never know what kind of woman you like until you’ve met all of them.
It is impossible to find a girlfriend without meeting a girl or two first, so it is time to retire your World Champion Madden Football status, give your Facebook skills a rest, and get out in the world and meet women.
3. Make Your Move
You’ve improved your self-image, started wearing contacts, and hit the local library to meet smart girls. Great–you’re almost there. The third and final step is the key to finding a girlfriend. You’ll have to learn how to make a move.
No matter what Cosmo or any other girly magazine tells you, you need to learn how to make the first move in order to find a girlfriend. Women are allowed to make the first move, too, but it rarely happens. Being a man and finding a girlfriend means making the first move nine times out of ten.
How do you do it? Easy–you’ve been talking to women for a few weeks now. Surely you’ve met one or two that you’re interested in, or that seem interested in you. The easiest way to turn this connection into a romantic situation is to simply say: “Wanna go out sometime?”
Okay, so you should probably come up with your own line–”Do you want to have lunch with me?” or “I really want to see that movie–will you see it with me sometime?” are great examples. The idea is to match your desire for a date with her desire to go out with you. Whether that starts with a simple cup of coffee or a more elaborate date is up to you.
Finding a girlfriend is not rocket science. You need to make some small changes, meet lots of women, and have the courage to ask them out. So stop hanging out with your dude friends every night of the week and join the company of women. Your future girlfriend will thank you.
