Cocky Comedy – Cocky Funny
David DeAngelo’s breakthrough dating texts, including Double Your Dating, introduced a new concept to the world of seduction. While the concept may not be entirely new, its name (cocky comedy) certainly is, and DeAngelo is attempting to give men a new way to approach and flirt with women.
The idea behind cocky comedy is to strike the right balance between being cocky and almost arrogant and being personable and likable. We all know nice guys finish last, but how can we be polite to a woman without being too nice?
Cocky Funny
The solution to this quagmire is to be “cocky funny.” Women go crazy for a guy with a bad attitude, but your attitude can’t be so bad that you end up outright insulting a woman.
Being cocky funny means approaching a woman and saying something a little bit off-putting. You may be used to walking up to a woman and asking her name or telling her she’s pretty. Cocky comedy suggests instead that you act a little bit like a brat when you make your approach. Why does this work?
Why Cocky Comedy Works
Every woman has heard every line in the book. Guys go up to women all day long and say cheesy, ridiculous things. Most women are tired of hearing “lines”, and even worse than using a line on a woman is simply saying “Hi, you’re pretty,” etc. Women don’t want wimpy guys, or push-overs that will just tell them what they want to hear.
Cocky funny guys are memorable, they have higher status than your average joe, and women see that fire in their spirit and interpret it to mean that they’re good in bed. That’s the bottom line.
How to Be Cocky Funny
Being cocky funny is not all that tough. You’re going to have to run this game a few times to get it to work just right, but basically being cocky funny should just come to you naturally.
1. Open your conversation with a bratty question.
You might walk up to a woman and say “There’s a girl over there wearing the same dress as you,” for example. No matter what you say, her answer is key to your response. Pick out a key word from her response. For instance, she might then say “Really? I got this in Paris.”
2. Repeat the key phrase to draw her out further.
By repeating what she says, you’re showing her you’re a listener. Also, you’re making her add details to the story. In our example, you’d next say “In Paris, really?”
3. Repeat this process until you have a good “open.”
Let’s say she then says “Yeah, I lived there for a year.” This would be your chance to be a bit bratty, and say “Oh, man, I didn’t know you lived in Paris. You’re fancy.” The idea here is to make her think you’re not just after her phone number or a quick lay–which of course you are.
Keep adding a little something like this to the conversation until you’ve got her smiling and talking to you, eating out of your hand.
Women love to talk and they love to be listened to. They like the playful “bratty” attitude combined with a little sweetness. That’s why cocky comedy works.
